Aside from the fact that the crystal clear, turquoise to cerulean waters surrounding the Bahamas are some of the most beautiful to be found anywhere on the planet, the very best reason to go is an altruistic one—they need you.
In September 2019, one of the most powerful hurricanes to ever be recorded in the Atlantic slammed into the Abaco Islands as a Category 5. It then continued on and struck Grand Bahama. The loss of life and the destruction was devastating. The best way to help the recovery efforts is to go to the Bahamas and have a great time.
The Bahamas are made up of more than 700 islands, islets and cays, sprinkled over about 100,000 square miles of ocean. Much of the Bahamas were unaffected by Dorian, yet the affects of tourists staying away is felt by the entire country. There is no reason to not choose the Bahamas as your next beach vacation and there are some great advantages in doing so, including incentives.
Perfect water, stunning beaches and an incredible array of things to do in nature, amazing places to stay and a very friendy and welcoming people, why wouldn't you want to go? The biggest challenge to visiting with the Bahamas is finding the perfect islands for you.

Weather wise, the best time to visit the Bahamas is in the high season which runs from November to the middle of April.
Since hurricane season is July through October, you might do a last minute trip and take your chances if if all looks clear. With that, May and June might just be a good time to go if you want to any avoid crowds.
** Hurrican Dorian Update : As of Sept 12, 2019, All of the islands of the Bahamas are open for business except for Grand Bahama and the Abacos Islands.
